A DIRECTOR of a Gwent car finance company, at the centre of an alleged multi-million pound fraud, appeared in court charged with fraud and deception offences.
Brian John Webb, 66, of Llanellen, appeared in Newport magistrates court, charged with three counts of trade for fraudulent purpose, five of obtaining property by deception, four of fraud by false representation, one of false accounting, one of making a false instrument and one of trade with intent to defraud creditors.
The charges arise from an investigation into an alleged multi-million pound fraud centreing on Gwent Fleet Management Ltd, where Webb held the position of director.
The case was due to be committed to Newport crown court, but was adjourned until next week due to administrative issues.
Webb was released on bail until the next hearing.
