A DISABLED teenager who encountered problems getting his wheelchair on and off buses in Gwent is making an appeal to find his very own mode of vintage transport.
The Argus reported in March how 16-year-old Ryan Escott, of Swffryd, was told he could not travel on some bus services to Newbridge because his wheelchair could not go on without a low level ramp.
But now Ryan, who suffers from cerebral palsy, is searching for a mark three Ford transit mini bus to restore and call his own.
The minibus, from the late 1980s to early 1990s, is bus enthusiast Ryan's favourite model, but his search for the vehicle has so far been unsuccessful and Ryan's father and full time carer Mark Escott is now appealing to anyone who might know where such a bus could be found.
“Buses are Ryan's passion and since he has been involved in them he has really come out of himself.
It's helped him meet more people and he has a lot of friends now. But he is just desperate for this particular model,” said Mr Escott.
Anyone who can help Ryan can contact Mr Escott on 07828652086.
