PUPILS from Newport’s Welsh primary school prepare for the arrival of the Ryder Cup next year with a special golf-themed carnival.
The children, from Ysgol Gymraeg Casnewydd, on Hartridge Farm Road, dressed up in golf fancy dress and made a large Welsh dragon to celebrate the major sporting event coming to the city's Celtic Manor resort in 2010.
at the end of the school’s multicultural week, where the pupils learned about the different traditions of the Caribbean, Asia, India and Africa.
Pupils also used the day to raise money for Newport-based charity Health Help International, who provide solar powered radios to schools and communities in Zambia. Deputy head Lorna Campell said the school hoped to raise £500.
