POLICE arrested three people as part of an operation targeting rogue traders across Gwent.
They worked alongside a number of organisations, including Trading Standards, HM Customs and excise and the Immigration Service, in the one-day crackdown on Wednesday.
The aim was to target criminals who charge for unnecessary work, overcharge for sub-standards goods, damage people's property to get money from them, leave jobs unfinished and intimidate and extort money from people.
As part of the operation, 50 people were stopped and three people were arrested for having outstanding warrants, four people were found committing offences by Trading Standards, another four for Environment Agency offences.
One vehicle was seized for having no insurance.
