TWO Torfaen youngsters and a Newport woman received achievements awards from their housing association's residents panel committee.
Launched earlier this year, the Melin awards aim to reward the efforts of residents who give their time to help improve their communities.
Twelve-year-olds Joseph Williams, of New Inn, and Bethan Gould, of Cwmbran, were both recognised for regularly helping with tasks such as litter-picking, delivering flyers and taking part in activity sessions.
Melin's community development officer Karen Green said:"Bethan and Joseph are always cheerful and happy to help and nothing is ever too much trouble for them."
Donna Connor, of Newport, received her award for encouraging young people in her street to attend Melin's weekly sport sessions.
She also regularly assists with other activities and takes responsibility for organising events take part in such as a day trip to Porthcawl.
