A GROUP of Newport dads and a Gwent water company have been nominated as green heroes in this year's Tidy Wales Awards.
Community group Duffryn Dads and waste water management company Kelda Water Services both stand a chance of winning £250 to put towards their cause after Keep Wales Tidy recognised their commitment to the environment.
Torfaen water company Kelda Water Services was singled out in the business category for allowing staff 500 hours of time off to help keep their local environment clean, while Duffryn Dads were nominated in the woodland improvement category after regular family litter picks in their area of the city.
The winners will be named by environment minister Jane Davidson at a ceremony in Llandudno on November 5.
