A hairdressing student at Coleg Gwent's Crosskeys Campus has braved the hair clippers to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign. Stephanie Parfitt, who has always had long hair, had one side of her head shaved, as part of a series of fundraising activities throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
17- year-old Stephanie Parfitt from Cwmcarn explains how it came about: "We had to come up with a fundraising idea and someone suggested a head shave - I've had relatives pass away from cancer so it's a cause close to my heart and I decided that shaving my head is nothing compared to what cancer sufferers go through."
A total of £1,385 was raised by hair and beauty students at Crosskeys Campus by pampering, preening and painting nails which includes over £300 from Stephanie's head shave.
