HUNDREDS of cannabis plants were found in two neighbouring houses in Brynmawr.
Police raided the semi-detached houses in Clarence Street at around 10.30am yesterday.
They found more than 400 plants across the two properties in a number of different rooms, including hydroponics equipment used to grow the drug.
DI Kerry Hagerty said: “This is a very large discovery and we are pleased that we have prevented these drugs from getting onto the streets. We take the presence of illegal drugs in our community very seriously and drug cultivation will not be tolerated.”
No-one was arrested in the raid and it is not yet known how much the drugs are worth.
DI Hagerty urged any residents to call the police if they see any suspicious behaviour or if they suspect cannabis production could be going on in their neighbourhood.
Anyone with information about the factory is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
