A NEWPORT business was forced to move after two spates of vandalism caused damage worth more than £15,000.
Celtic Car Company, formerly of Cromwell Road moved to St Julians after 13 cars had their rear windows and windscreens smashed in the early hours of Saturday morning in the second bout of vandalism to hit the business in the last two-and-a-half-months.
The company, which trades used cars and caravans was first hit on the weekend of August 15 and 16 when 13 cars had their rear windows smashed, amounting to £6,000 of damage.
It is estimated the most recent incident will cost about £10,000.
Celtic Car owner Paul Scull said the vandalism on Saturday was discovered by a neighbour who saw a youth wearing a hoodie smashing the car windows at around 4.30am.
The damaged cars were on the garage forecourt and ranged from a Rover to a Mercedes.
Mr Scull said the cost would have to be met by the business as well as insurance and he moved the dealership from Somerton Park Garage on Cromwell Road to St Julian's Garage on Caerleon Road on Saturday because the vandalism was getting worse.
He previously offered a £1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the vandal and is offering the same reward again.
He said: "This is a massive inconvenience and the costs involved will have to be met at least partly by ourselves."
Gwent Police are appealing for information following the attacks.
