A 20-YEAR-OLD Valleys man has apeared in court for possession of an imitation firearm in a public place.
Jamie Thomas, of Garnlydan, Ebbw Vale appeared at Newport Crown court yesterday after admitting possession of an air rifle.
He was orginally charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition in a public place as well as the air rifle charge, but this was amended to possession of an imitation firearm in a public place at court yesterday for possession of a BB - or ball-bearing - gun.
Thomas pleaded guilty to both counts in relation to an incident which occured on March 1 this year on George Street in Brynmawr.
He will be sentenced on Friday, November 6.
Thomas was also charged with a third count of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence but the crown is not proceeding with this charge.
