A WOMAN arrested after a newborn baby’s body was discovered in a Pengam house remains on police bail.
The 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of the concealment of a birth following the grisly discovery on September 15.
Caerphilly council workers found the baby’s body while they cleared out a terraced house in Farm View.
A postmortem was carried out on the baby last month but doctors were unable to establish a cause of death.
Neighbours said a young woman who had lived in the house with her two sons, aged around eight and ten, had left the house two months before the discovery.
The house had been boarded up and empty since.
Caerphilly council gave support to the traumatised staff who found the baby.
