TWO Caldicot mums are raising cash for a cancer hospital where both their fathers have been treated.
Sharon Staines and Beverly Barnsfield have raised almost £4,000 for the Velindre hospital in Cardiff.
Mrs Staines’ father Desmond Jones, 75, is receiving chemothreapy from the hospital while Mrs Barsnfield’s father John Antell, 73, has also been treated there.
The women, both employees of Caldicot’s Greggs store, came to work dressed in their pyjamas. They also held a fundraiser in the Severn View Social Club.
Local shops and supermarkets helped with prizes and goodies for the event, with Barclays Bank pledging £750. In total the two have amassed £3,990 so far.
Mrs Staines said: "We never thought we’d raise that amount of money, we’re over the moon."
