A PEDESTRIAN died when she was struck by a lorry on the M4 last night.
The heavy goods lorry hit her at around 10pm on the westbound carriageway near the Caerleon Road intersection at junction 25.
Police do not know why she was on the road, but said there were no other vehicles nearby.
The woman, who has not been identified, was dead at the scene.
The 46-year-old lorry driver was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital as a precaution and later released.
No-one was arrested.
