SHOPPERS in Cwmbran got the chance to do something usually reserved for football's elite yesterday, stand side-by-side with the Premier League trophy.
As part of a tour across the UK, the 3ft 5in tall trophy, which weighs four stones, was on show in the town's branch of Barclays throughout the day for people to have their photograph taken with.
The bank was fundraising for the Argus-back charity Sparkle, taking donations which it will match pound-for-pound.
Staff were getting into the football theme, swapping their usual uniforms for football shirts including Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Everton.
Two youngsters who went along for a picture were brothers Jaedan Beizsley, eight, and Callum Milton, three, from the Gaer, Newport.
Jaedan said: "It was really good, I had a happy feeling - it was great."
Sporting his Manchester United shirt, Jaedan backed his team to lift the trophy come the end of the season, a view not shared by Chelsea-loving Callum.
