A CRUMLIN woman says her and her family have no other option but to leave their home because yobs continually harass them.

Hannah Young, 26 of Trinant Terrace, says her, her husband who does not want to be named, and her five-year-old daughter have been the victims of around 40 anti-social behaviour incidents during the past year.

Now she says they are being forced to move out of the area to escape the trouble.

Mrs Young said the attacks started last November when her husband moved into the council-owned property with her and started getting rude comments made to him by the gang.

The problems got worse and have included eggs being thrown at the house windows, ice balls being thrown at her daughter earlier this year and even one of the gang trying to get into the house to start a fight with her husband.

Their car has also been attacked on three separate occasions with four of its windows being smashed at around 1.50am yesterday as well as one of its windows being smashed at around 2.20am last Monday.

Mrs Young said the gang can have up to 20 members hanging around at one time who are aged between about 18 and 30.

She said: “We are constantly living in fear.

“We have contacted the police but nothing is being done. We now have no other option but to move.”

A spokeswoman for Gwent police said ward officers regularly patrol the area and a ward officer would be visiting the family soon.

She added that enquiries were currently being carried out into the two latest car attacks. Witnesses are asked to contact Gwent police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
