Hi Everyone, This month we are teaming up with WaterAid to try and reduce our carbon footprint by offering tap water to our customers as an eco-alternative to bottled water. The Tap into WaterAid campaign encourages people to donate a small amount of money for tap water such as 20p, with all proceeds going to help some of the world’s poorest people access clean drinking water. We’re supporting this great cause not only to make a difference to third world countries but to help reduce our carbon emissions here in Wales. Bottled water has a high carbon footprint due to its transportation and the amount of bottles that end up in landfill each year which could otherwise be recycled. We’ve also been trying to keep our energy bills and carbon emissions low by turning down the heating and only using it when we really need it. We’re encouraging regulars to wear a jumper to the pub instead! Kim’s Top Tip: If everyone in Wales turned their thermostats down by 1°C we would save 250,000 tonnes of C02 and around £50 million on our energy bills.
