A FORMER Newport landlord was released on bail after appearing in court charged with stealing more than £24,000 from SA Brains Ltd.
Michael Derek Cook, 58, is accused of stealing a told of £24,721.64 from the brewery between May 5, 2008 and January 16 this year, while he was landlord of The Hanbury Arms, Caerleon.
Cook, who now lives in Holly Street, Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd, appeared in Newport magistrates’ court yesterday.
The magistrates refused jurisdiction for the case and released Cook on unconditional bail to appear at Newport crown court on November 27.
