A PONTYPOOL woman was awarded an MBE for her voluntary work for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Cicely Anne Llewellyn Hughes, of Pontypool, was presented with the award at Pontypool’s Civic Centre by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Gwent, Simon Boyle.
She attended the ceremony with her friends and family.
Mayor of Torfaen, Cllr Robert Jones and Mayoress Margaret Jones also attended.
