FOUR men were charged in connection with an alleged robbery in Tredegar which left a teenager with a broken cheekbone, a police spokeswoman said.
James Storey, 18, from Cwmbran, underwent a two-hour operation at the Royal Gwent Hospital to fuse a metal plate to his cheekbone after an incident in Bryn Bach Park on June 2.
Mr Storey was left with blurred vision in one eye, severe bruising to his face and one of his eyes closed up.
Five men were arrested on suspicion of robbery shortly after the incident and bailed pending further enquiries.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said four men aged, between 17 and 20, all from the Rhymney area, were charged with robbery and will appear in Caerphilly magistrates court on Tuesday.
