Thursday 6 May will be a day to make a big choice. You will be choosing between securing the recovery with Labour, or immediate Tory cuts that could tip us back into recession.
Between protecting frontline services with Labour or letting an unchanged Tory Party loose, ready to take an axe to them.
In Blaenau Gwent we need a Labour MP - someone to take the fight to the Tories. That's why voting Labour is vital.
I will fight for a much, much better Blaenau Gwent.
Our Labour governments in London and Cardiff have invested massively in the constituency with the new Aneurin Bevan hospital, improved roads and the railway line to Cardiff. We must now secure the recovery and in the future. I will work hard for better jobs, better healthcare, better education, improved transport, and a greener environment for us all.
I will:
Stand up for our area.
I grew up and live in Blaenau Gwent, and know how to get the best deal for us. The last couple of years have been tough for many, but Labour has taken us through the recession, we need more jobs.
Support the cleaning up of Parliament.
I will vote for reform of the expenses system. I'm not standing to be your MP for the perks, but because I want to represent the community I live in and care about. Lead local campaigns.
Whether it's working to 'turn the streetlights back on', fighting the closure of local schools, or supporting the Gurkhas, I'll always campaign hard for what's right.
Work for pensioners and families.
With Labour's free bus pass, TV licences for the over 75s, and winter fuel allowances for our Welsh valley weather, things are easier than they were before.
Pensioners can trust me to help them stand on their own two feet. We must protect family tax credits. Working in Labour's Parliamentary and Assembly teams I won't be isolated and will do my best for you.
Take on the Tories.
Make no mistake. I am the only candidate in Blaenau Gwent who can stop the Conservatives winning power at Westminster - don’t let the Tories in through the back door.
It’s a simple enough question. Do you want the Tories back in power?
If you don’t, you must make your vote count - and vote Labour, for a future fair for all.
