NEWPORT coach Leigh Jones says his players are once more starting to believe they can achieve anything and he is looking for a convincing display at Caerphilly tonight.
Jones has picked a strong squad for the Welsh Premier Division game, reflecting his determination there should be no slip-up in his desire to win the championship.
It is also recognition that on their own patch Caerphilly are a capable outfit, as recent wins over Llanelli and Ebbw Vale show.
But Newport are on a good run with five wins from their last six encounters and are anxious to keep the run going.
"We have won five out of six and it should be six out of six because we threw the Neath game away," said Jones.
"We are on a bit of a roll and starting to play some good rugby.
"We struggled with our game before Christmas, but since then we have started to play a lot better, though our form has been patchy.
"We have talked this week about sustaining our form for the whole 80 minutes, something which has so far eluded us, and that's our aim against Caerphilly.
"They are a very well-coached and well-organised side who play particularly well at home.
"They are in a fortunate position of being able to target games and I'm sure they took a weakened side to Neath (where they lost 67-14) with us in mind.
"They'll be thinking of a win against us and we have to treat them with the respect they deserve and we have picked a strong side to reflect that.
"One or two other sides have maybe not done that and have paid the price.
"We are capable of a good run in the league and the more wins, the more confidence we gain and the players are starting to believe that they can achieve anything."
Mike Voyle (pictured) is back in the Newport squad, having returned to Newport a fortnight ago from a trip back home to New Zealand.
"We have given him time to acclimatise and we're glad to have him back. I hope he picks up where he left off," added Jones.
