WALES A captain and Newport centre Andy Marinos (pictured) has joined the club's growing injury list.
Marinos, who has scored a try in each of his last three games, suffered a broken nose in the first half of Friday night's match at Llanelli.
He went off for treatment, but the damage was not realised until yesterday and it will rule him out of Saturday night's Welsh/Scottish League game at Caerphilly.
Marinos joins Shane Howarth (cut thumb), Jason Forster (groin strain), Emyr Lewis (broken thumb) and Jason Jones-Hughes (knee ligaments) on the injured list.
And the club are also waiting to hear from scrum half Ofisa Tonu'u about his return from New Zealand following the death of his mother.
"We will regroup today," said coach Ian McIntosh, insisting the team are still on track despite their narrow 17-13 defeat at Llanelli which cost them their chance of going to the top of the table.
"We played behind our forwards and tried to attack off bad ball which was uncharacteristic.
"Only late in the second half did we manage to get our game going, but it would have been a huge plus if we had won there."
Lock Mike Voyle and number eight Joe Powell, who played a big role as replacements in Newport's stirring late revival, look like giving McIntosh a problem over his starting line-up.
Captain Simon Raiwalui also pledges Newport will turn things around after their defeats against Leinster and Llanelli.
The Leinster losses by small margins were put in perspective when the Irish province thrashed Glasgow 35-13 in the Celtic League semi-final on Friday night.
"We're not happy at losing four in a row, but we've got a strong squad and we'll turn it around," said Raiwalui.
"We'll work hard this week after starting two games in a row slowly, there are no excuses for that.
"We have got to look at ourselves, but we've got to take the positives. We came back well against Leinster and Llanelli and we just couldn't pull it out of the fire.
"I know we'll put in better performances and with those will come the results. We're definitely confident, we know the score and everyone is working hard. "Once we get our momentum going we can beat most sides."
