WALES will play their way out of trouble if the players accept responsibility for letting the country down, says Newport centre Andy Marinos who captains the A team against Tonga at Llanelli tonight.
Marinos has been in the same situation before when he was playing in South Africa, but the Springboks came back stronger.
"We had the same problems when the Lions won the 1997 series and then Australia put 60 points on us in the Tri Nations," said Marinos.
"Though everyone was in a real quandary we returned the favour when the Australians came out.
"The players in Wales have proved a point in the past when they have been successful. "Everyone should stop blaming one another and take a hard look at themselves. "I have always thought that if players have been given the responsibility, if they have got that honour they have got to give it their best shot.
"If you do that no-one can point fingers. A lot of the time if I haven't played well it's because I haven't given it everything.
"Nobody has got the answers. Individuals have got to front up to the challenge." Marinos has captained Western Stormers in the past when Bobby Skinstad was injured. "It's fantastic to lead Wales A," he said. "I'm terribly honoured and I'm looking forward to it, I'm excited.
"We've got to be clever the way we approach it, we all saw what Scotland did against Tonga when they settled.
"With Salesi Finau in the centre for them you can guarantee there will be one or two shots round my melon.
"It's going to be physical, but we don't need unnecessary contact. "We didn't perform well against Argentina and we let the nation down.
"There are going to be casualties in a professional sport because people want results, but we've got another chance and we've got to play well." Marinos will have four Newport colleagues in the A team with him -- Matthew Watkins, Ben Breeze, Chris Anthony and Andrew Powell, who has made a quick recovery from a shoulder injury.
