NEWPORT threequarters Jonathan Pritchard and Ben Breeze have been cleared by the RFU and the International Board to feature in the Wales A squad for tonights game against Argentina at Pontypridd.
Breeze is in the side out of the blue after originally being bracketed with Cardiffs rugby league convert Anthony Sullivan.
But with Neath wing Shane Williams ruled out by injury, Sullivan has gone up into the senior squad, letting Breeze in when a week ago he couldnt make the Newport 22.
Pritchard, who travels to Newport from Bristol with Breeze, is a replacement for Wales A.
Both played for England in one of the International Board series sevens tournaments last season.
That would have ruled them out of playing for any other country, but they only agreed to play in the sevens after the RFU gave them a signed letter on IRB notepaper saying as it was an England second squad it would not disqualify them for Wales.
The Welsh Rugby Union asked for proof on the Newport pair before the Wales A game.
Pritchard qualifies through his father, who is from Newport, while Breezes grandmother is from Maesteg and he also has a Welsh wife.
I have it in writing that if I played for England I would not be categorised as English, said Pritchard.
I had come through England Schools and Under-21s, but when I came to Newport I enjoyed it so much, and my dad is a proud Welshman.
The WRU asked for proof that I was not disqualified for Wales.
A shocked Breeze said after a week which has seen him go from outside the Newport 22 into the Wales A team, I dont know whether Im coming or going.
By the Swansea game I was so irate at not playing as Id had enough of watching. But you do need a bit of luck.
I got up at 5.30am to report to the Vale of Glamorgan for training, we did a few drills, the side was read out and there I was.
Then there were questions over the fitness of Shane Williams and I had a horrible hour or so waiting, but then luckily enough I was in the side.
I was pleasantly surprised to play against Leinster on Friday night.
I really enjoyed it, it went well and the Wales A selectors happened to be there watching Andy Marinos and Jon Pritchard.
