NEWPORT Rugby Club are unhappy they have been allocated only 1,500 terrace tickets for their big Heineken Cup match against Leinster on Friday, October 26, writes Paul Tully.
It has been confirmed the game will go ahead at Leinster's Donnybrook ground, kick-off 7pm.
Leinster claim the capacity at Donnybrook is 6,000 but the Heineken Cup handbook claims it is 8,000, and Newport are entitled to 25%.
"There is a discrepancy in the capacity and we are disappointed not to receive any seated allocation," said Newport chief executive Keith Grainger.
"We are equally disappointed not to have yet received our ticket allocation as Heineken Cup rules state all unsold tickets must be returned to the home club two weeks before the game and we cannot do that if we have not received them."
The tickets are now expected to arrive tomorrow and will go on sale to season ticket holders immediately they are received and up until Tuesday, October 23. After this any remaining tickets will go on general sale.
All tickets are £8 25 (£10 Irish) and it is an all-ticket game. Any supporter wishing to contact Leinster direct can phone 0035316689599 or can email: irfulb@iol.ie
*Newport's game against Swansea on Friday night will kick-off at 7.05pm. Tickets are still available and will be sale up until kick-off on the night.
