TOULOUSE field ten internationals, nine French and one All Black, against Newport in tomorrow night's Heineken Cup clash at Rodney Parade.
Leading the way is skipper and lock Fabien Pelous, (pictured) who is also the France captain. With him in the pack is experienced prop Franck Tournaire, while other caps are back row trio Didier Lacroix, Sylvain Dispagne and New Zealander Isitolo Maka.
But one absentee up front is Italian prop Andrea Lo Cicero, who is out after tearing a calf muscle in training.
The back division internationals are Nicolas Jeanjean, Cedric Desbrosse, Xavier Garbajosa, Michel Marfaing and David Aucagne.
But Toulouse have sprung a surprise by replacing injured wing Cedric Haymans with young full back Jeanjean while scrum half Frederic Michalak switches to full back. Toulouse are the biggest name in French rugby, winning the championship 16 times, including six years in the last seven, and the cup five times.
But they opened this season's Heineken Cup campaign with a 40-10 defeat against Leinster in Dublin last Friday.
Such a result can work in one of two ways, as a spur to the Frenchmen looking to redress the balance with a win at Newport or to dispirit them and create uncertainty which Newport can exploit.
Toulouse switched their Leinster game to Donnybrook at short notice because the main municipal stadium in the city with a 37,000 capacity has been badly damaged by the recent chemical explosion and can't be used for 12-18 months.
Their home games, including the Newport return in January, will be played at their 11,000 capacity home ground.
Toulouse team to play Newport: Frdric Michalak, Nicolas Jeanjean, Cdric Desbrosse, Xavier Garbajosa, Michel Marfaing, David Aucagne, Jerome Fillol, Benoit Lecouls, Yannick Bru, Franck Tournaire, David Gerard, Fabien Pelous (captain), Didier Lacroix, Sylvain Dispagne, Isitolo Maka, Replacements: Luigi Esposito, William Servat, Hughes Miorin, Jean Bouilhou, Jerome Cazalbou, Arnaud Dumas, Finau Maka.
