NEWPORT are looking for more strike force from their wings, starting with Saturdays game at the Brewery Field.
Bridgend chief Leighton Samuel has invested heavily in a revamped squad as they aim to take Newports place in the top echelon of Welsh clubs.
Among his expensive signings are Wales wings Dafydd James and Gareth Thomas, so it will be a big test down the flanks on Saturday as the attention switches from the Celtic to the Welsh/Scottish League.
Newport have had little success on the wing this season and in six matches so far only three have been scored by the men out wide, two by Ben Breeze and one by Emyr Lewis.
Matt Mostyn, who scored 22 tries last season, has yet to get off the mark so far in four starts, but has recovered from injury and is handed the right wing slot, with Breeze returning on the other flank.
Were still looking for strike force on the wings and weve still got to ascertain whos going to do the job, admitted Newport coach Ian McIntosh.
Matthew Watkins has also played there, but its not certain whether hes going to be a centre or wing. Lewis looks more suited to full back than wing, while teenager Nathan Brew, who can also play there, is being brought on slowly.
Hal Luscombe is another young prospect, but has been suffering from a hamstring strain. The wings are the only changes from the side which achieved Newports first win at Neath for seven years.
Andy Marinos has recovered from a shoulder strain while the pack remains unchanged. Four forwards could not be considered because of injury Ian Gough (shoulder), Gareth Taylor (knee), Paul Young (calf) and Alix Popham (wrist) while Jason Jones-Hughes is still sidelined by a knee injury.
But back row forward Joe Powell is fit again after being out with a damaged knee and takes his place on the replacements bench.
Two props, Chris Anthony and Ceri Jones, are on the bench in the absence of a second hooker while lock Del Cross also features in the absence of Taylor and Gough.
