A BRAVE Cwmbran wife is preparing to plunge 10,000 feet through the air as she takes on her second skydive to support her husband who has multiple sclerosis and raise funds for the MS Society.
Strapped to instructors, Tanya Butcher, 46, and her co-worker Rachael Rogers, 19, will throw themselves out of a plane on May 22 when they take part in a skydive in Swansea.
The friends, who work together at Somerfield on Llantarnam Road in Cwmbran, want to raise awareness of the condition and give it as much publicity as possible.
Mrs Butcher's husband, Stephen Butcher, 41, was diagnosed with MS seven years ago.
She said: "It has been difficult coping with Stephen's condition. Stephen has found it very difficult to accept that he has MS and it has been hard for him to cope with. His condition has had a huge impact on family life."
This is Mrs Butcher's second skydive for the charity having completing one last year where she helped raise just over £1,600.
She admitted to loving the adrenaline and said she wants to raise about the same amount of money this year.
