DOZENS of tributes were laid for tragic Blackwood youngster Luke Matthews who died after his bike was in a collision with a bus on Thursday.
The eight-year-old twin died from injuries he received after the bike he was riding collided with a Stagecoach bus on Emlyn Terrace, Talywain.
Luke, was taken to Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital after the accident at 3pm but died shortly afterwards.
Around 50 tributes have since been left at the crash scene, near Talywain Rugby Club, including flowers, balloons and teddy bears along with messages.
One from the youngster’s family read: "You made us all so happy with your beautiful smile."
Messages from other family members including aunties and uncles said Luke would always be in their hearts, describing him as a "special boy" who would be sadly missed.
Others simply read: “Thinking of this family at this sad loss”, “You’re with the angels now babe. Sweet dreams” and "May you rest in peace and be happy with the angels".
Local police constable Kelly Blake had also left flowers with the message: “Thoughts are with you at this time. Such a tragedy. Lots of love.”
