A NEWPORT company has launched a recycling scheme for old analogue televisions as part of the digital switchover.
Environmental company FootPrintMatters2U will collect and ethically recycle televisions that are surplus to requirements.
These can even be collected for free from the homes of pensioners and the infirm who live within Newport.
The company, which was founded in February last year, came up with the scheme after leading a highly-successful campaign with Newport Wastesavers throughout schools in the city in January.
This campaign was about the need to collect and recycle dry cell batteries found in household items like radios and cameras.
Anyone who has changed their TV, perhaps due to the digital switch-over, will be able to recycle their old set by taking it to the FootPrintMatters2U site on the Felnex Industrial Estate or by taking it to the council's civic amenity site.
