A NEWPORT youngster got busy in the kitchen to help raise money for a good cause.
Harry Bridges, 11, of Stow Park Avenue, has been baking his Easter break away making cakes, to sell at school to raise money for the St David’s Foundation and so far he has raised around £100.
Harry’s mum, Jane Bridges, said: “Harry goes to Monmouth School for Boys and to get a house tie the boys have to represent their house in a sport, perform and raise money for charity in the Easter holidays.
“We’ve baked cakes in the past and Harry picked the St David’s Foundation because my dad is very ill and they are helping to care for him. St David’s are fantastic and give me some respite.”
Harry has been making lemon drizzle cake and his signature cake, Bara Brith, and his mum said his unique selling point is using the eggs from their own chickens so the cakes are as Welsh as can be.
