A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was taken to hospital yesterday after being knocked down as she waited for her school bus.
The girl, named locally as Abigail Jones, was hit by the Suzuki Grand Vitari at the bus stop by the Queens Hotel, on Abertillery Road, Blaina.
Abigail, who had left her house to catch the bus to Brynmawr Comprehensive School, was taken to Abergavenny’s Nevill Hall Hospital by ambulance but her injuries were not thought to be serious and she did not suffer any broken bones.
Police said the driver of the car stopped after the collision and no arrests have been made.
A spokeswoman said officers have undertaken their inquiries and are satisfied no offence was committed and no further investigation is required.
