POLICE are continuing investigations to find out what happened in the build-up to the crash which left an eight-year-old boy dead.
One week on from the tragic death of Luke Matthews, Gwent Police said they are still carrying out their investigations to determine the circumstances around the crash.
The Blackwood youngster, a twin, was riding his bike along Emlyn Terrace in Talywain, Pontypool, at 3pm last Thursday when he collided with a Stagecoach bus.
He was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital but died from his injuries a short time later.
Since the crash, there has been an outpouring of grief from people both in Pontypool and the youngster's hometown.
More than 50 tributes have been left at the crash site, near Talywain Rugby Club, including flowers, balloons and teddy bears.
Flowers and toys have also been fixed to railings outside Blackwood Primary School, where Luke was a pupil and a Facebook group set up in his memory already had almost 1,500 members by yesterday.
In a family tribute issued last week, they described Luke as a "funny and beautiful boy... who was loved by everyone who met him."
He was described as "mummy's angel" who will be missed by twin brother Owen and other brother Sean.
They added: "You were the life and soul of the party with your singing and dancing.
Luke, you were our funny and beautiful boy, generous to a fault with a mischievous sense of humour.
"He was loved by everyone who met him and he's made an enormous impression on us all. He will never be forgotten by his friends and family."
