RUGBY stars Luke Charteris and Scott Quinnell proved they have good eyes for more than just line-out ball during a charity shooting event.
The pair joined Dragons coach Paul Turner, former prop Adam Black and Newport County players such as Sam Foley, at Treetops Sporting Ground, Coedkernew, on Thursday.
A charity mini competition was organised by Jim Daniels of Newport Car Auctions and aimed to raise funds for newly-promoted County.
Nine teams of five people entered from local companies, including Acorn Recruitment and Celtic Recycling. Each team was coached by a shooting expert and included a local celebrity.
Treetops director Ray Adams said the day started with a Hit or Miss competition, where people had to guess if the celebrities would hit a clay pigeon.
He said: “Luke Charteris went first and missed. It then slowly worked around to Scott, with everyone expecting him to miss as well, but he blasted it out of the sky. Luke also hit it on his second time.”
The event raised about £500 for Newport County.
