THE cyclist who was airlifted to hospital after falling while riding his bike in Cwmcarn Forest Drive was yesterday in a stable condition.
The man, named as Richard Weller by the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, was still undergoing tests following the two-bike crash on Saturday morning.
The Ambulance service said the pair fell while riding their bikes along the bike track, but it is not known how far.
An ambulance was called to the scene at 11.07am and an air ambulance was requested shortly after in order to get access to the cyclists.
Mr Weller was airlifted to Cardiff after suffering a shoulder injury but the nature of the injuries suffered by the other rider were not known.
