PEOPLE in the Valleys have got an easier way to help get their five-a-day after the launch of a new food co-op.
Blaina's food co-op started on Friday and offers people in the town the chance to buy fresh fruit, salad and vegetables at the cost of £2.50 a bag.
The food co-op is in town every Friday between 12pm and 2pm in the Blaina Communities First officers in the High Street.
People place their orders one week in advance and the food is bought from Goytre wholesaler Philip Jones.
Food development worker for the rural regeneration unit, which helps set up the schemes across Wales, Hannah James said: "They're used as a social gathering so people can meet up and talk, and the health aspect to help get people to eat their five-a-day while being affordable."
The latest co-op joins others in Blaenau Gwent including Six Bells, Cwmtillery and Rassau.
