A DOMESTIC abuse charity which runs two support centres in Gwent, celebrated its 21st birthday on Tuesday with a 1980s-themed party.
Hafan Cymru hosted a party for its service users at the pavilion in Newport's Belle Vue Park.
The charity provides advice and support for victims of domestic abuse at its centres in Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent.
It has 31 bed spaces in Blaenau Gwent and 36 in Torfaen and people can drop in to the centres for support.
Tuesday's party had a visit from Tredegar-born poet Patrick Jones.
Mr Jones read some of his poetry before a service user panel spoke about their own experiences of domestic abuse.
This was followed by a question and answer session for service users who were also treated to lunch and some birthday cake.
The 21st birthday will be celebrated again in June when service users raise awareness of domestic abuse with a walk in Pontypool Park on June 2.
