A FORMER Gwent landlord yesterday admitted stealing £15,000 from a Welsh Brewery.
Michael Cook, 49, who used to run the Hanbury Arms, Caerleon, was originally charged with stealing £24, 721.64 that should have been paid to S.A Brains Ltd.
Newport Crown Court heard the case was based on computer evidence, much of which was missing, and would be difficult to put to the court.
Cook, of Holly Street, Pontypridd, therefore accepted that he had been dishonest and pleaded guilty to the theft of £15,000, between April 3, 2008 and January 15, 2009 from S.A Brains Ltd.
The matter was adjourned for sentence on May 13 at Newport Crown Court.
Cook was released on bail on the condition he co-operates with the Probation Service.
