A CRACK down on criminal activity in Caerphilly county borough on Thursday resulted 110 motorists being prosecuted for speeding.
Police on patrol in areas including Risca and Blackwood also arrested two wanted offenders and an illegal immigrant, seized five vehicles with no insurance, and handed out 32 fixed penalty notices for offences such as not wearing a seat belt and driving without an MOT or insurance.
Eleven motorists were also fined for driving while on a mobile phone.
Inspector Gareth Lintern, who led the operation, said: "The majority of people living and working in the Caerphilly area and Gwent as a whole are law abiding citizens who support our efforts to drive down crime and provide a reassuring presence in local communities, however, we are committed to spreading the message that anyone found to be involved in criminal activity will face the consequences.”
