A CAMPAIGN to encourage people to decorate buildings in Blaenau Gwent with bunting ahead of the National Eisteddfod was launched with 100 days to go until the festival kicks off.
Organisers want to create a sea of colour across the county borough in the lead up to the week-long event at The Works, which begins in July.
They are distributing bunting around towns in the area and are calling for residents and traders to put posters in their windows, flags and bunting in their gardens and leaflets in their shops.
The campaign was launched by local volunteers who decorated Ebbw Vale's Civic Cente with bunting last Wednesday, which marked 100 days until the festival begins on July 31.
A competition to find the best decorated home is taking place and people can send photos into the National Eisteddfod website.
A prize will also be awarded to the business which had done the most to promote the festival locally.
The festival usually attracts more than 160,000 visitors, costs around £3 million to stage and brings between £6-8 million to the local economy.
Anyone who wants to order flags and posters can email gwyb@eisteddfod.org.uk
