A MAN who was taken to hospital after his moped collided with a parked car in Newport is in a stable condition, police said yesterday.
The 20-year-old was taken to the city’s Royal Gwent Hospital with serious head injuries following the incident on Cromwell Road, at around 2pm Monday.
Eye-witnesses said the man, riding a blue Piaggio New Skipper moped in the direction of Nash Road, tried to over take another vehicle when his moped hit a parked Alfa Romeo.
Police were called to the incident outside C U Mehmi and Sons Newsagent and part of the road was closed for two hours while the area was cleared.
