Jeff Rees is 46 years old, divorced with an adult son. He a Plaid Councillor, incidentally never claiming expenses.
His work background is from the business sector, knowing the importance of entrepreneurial spirit.
Having lived overseas, he has seen how countries smaller than Wales successfully make their own laws and policies to benefit their own people.
At a time when people in Wales have never felt so angry and let down by the same old politics in Westminster, more and more people are turning to Plaid because they know Plaid offers something different.
Plaid would raise the basic state pension to the level of the pension credit guarantee during the period of the next parliament, in the first instance for those aged 80 and over.
The income for a married couple could go from £152.30 to £202 a week, an increase of 30%.
The banking sector must be reformed in order to ensure that this problem cannot arise again.

The number of veterans ending up in the Criminal Justice system or with drug and alcohol problems is rising. Better pre and post discharge support programmes are needed along with the introduction of a national system to identify veterans coming into contact with the criminal justice system so they can get the help they need quickly.
Given the opportunity Jeff Rees would introduce legislation through a Private Members Bill. Named, the Victims of Domestic Violence Bill. It would make statutory, the Multi Agency Violence Risk Assessment Conferences (MARACs).
Providing a Safety Plan for all victims of Domestic Violence.
The service and provision for the MARACs is now very patchy, and making them statutory would not only raise the expectation in terms of outcomes, it might also give victims more confidence in the system - both the criminal system and services for them - and in turn could make more women come forward and seek help.

Think that Westminster has let us down? Think that our area needs a strong local MP to stand up for us? Plaid Cymru MPs will always be Wales’ voice in Westminster. Maybe you should think Plaid.
