A WOMAN was taken to hospital yesterday after an accident involving five vehicles on the A466 near Chepstow.
Gwent Police said the accident happened just before 9am yesterday morning on the A466 going towards Chepstow, between High Beech roundabout and Newhouse roundabout.
A 63-year-old woman from the Chepstow area who had been driving one of the vehicles was taken to Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital by the Great Western Ambulance Service for treatment.
The extent of her injuries was not known, but they were not thought to be serious.
Police said the four other vehicles - an Audi, Fiat Bravo, Renault Clio and a lorry - were damaged but there were no other casualties.
A crew from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service did attend the incident, where it was thought a car had driven into a number of parked vehicles, but the female casualty was already out of the car by the time they arrived.
The road between High Beech roundabout and Newhouse roundabout was closed in both directions following the incident, but had reopened by 11.30am.
Police said the damaged vehicles had been recovered.
