On the doorstep in Torfaen, it has become apparent that people feel neglected and ignored by the old politics of Westminter. I strongly believe that an MP is elected to represent their area and you can only do that by listening and speaking to people.
What has gone on in the past in Westminster has shattered trust in politics and politicians of all sides. I want to do everything possible to work hard and rebuild that trust and I have absolutely no doubt that it will be the hardest job for whoever is elected on May 6th.
My main priorities in this election are the NHS, education and regeneration of our local economy. We must do more to reduce bureaucracy and red tape in the health service making the service more local and patient centred.
Everyone has the right to feel safe when they walk the streets so we need to ensure that police officers are not tied to a desk filling out paperwork and are instead freed up to do the job they are trained to do and patrol our streets. Above all else, we need to get our economy back on its feet.
