CAST members and the director of a Gwent-made anti-text drive film, which became a world wide hit, were given Gwent chief constable's commendations for their efforts in promoting road safety.
Produced by Brynmawr filmmaker Peter Watkins-Hughes in conjunction with Gwent Police and Tredegar Comprehensive School, Cow tells the tale of Cassie Cowen, “Cow” to her friends, whose life is changed forever after an horrific crash.
Since it premiered last June, the film has been views more than a million times on YouTube and attracted media attention worldwide. It is hoped the film will become part of the core schools programme across Wales and the UK.
Gwent Police held its Chief Constable's Commendations ceremony at the Burleigh Academy on Thursday night and Mr Watkins-Hughes, and lead actresses Jenny Davies, Amy Ingram and Laura Quantick, were recognised for their effort in the international advocacy of the force and road safety.
