PLANS for a £65,000 scheme to improve safety near a Cwmbran school have been drawn up.
Torfaen Council is to boost safety along Greenmeadow Way by introducing a 20mph speed limit along a 420-metre section of the road as well as surrounding streets and cul-de-sacs including Keats Close, Burns Lane and Shelley Green.
It is also proposed to install speed cushions, pedestrian islands and provide a local narrowing on part of the road along the section of Greenmeadow Way.
The plans also include a new footway to provide a safe route for shoppers and local school children attending Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbran.
The council hopes the plans will be funded through the Assembly's Special Road Safety Grant and Safe Routes in Communities scheme.
Residents can have their say about the plans at a public exhibition at the Power Station, Blenheim Road, Cwmbran, between 12pm and 8pm on May 18.
