POLITICAL parties in Wales will today embark on the final 48 hours of election campaigning before polling day.
Welsh Labour will hold a press briefing in Cardiff this morning with First Minister Carwyn Jones and Welsh Secretary Peter Hain.
Shadow transport secretary Theresa Villiers will be in the city for the Tories.
Welsh Liberal Democrat leader Kirsty Williams will join her party's campaign in the target seat of Newport East.
And senior members of Plaid Cymru, including party leader Ieuan Wyn Jones, will lead a big push in Aberconwy, North Wales.
Plaid yesterday returned to its central campaign message - that none of its big UK-wide rivals are likely to win an outright majority.
Campaigning in North Wales, Foreign Secretary David Miliband said a Conservative government would "choke off’’ support for the economic recovery.
In Brecon and Radnorshire, former Lib Dem leader Paddy Ashdown attacked Labour for failing to support the armed services, saying his party would improve forces' family homes and increase pay for low-ranking troops.
