NEWPORT-BORN actor Michael Sheen will captain a football side containing legends of the game including Zinedine Zidane and Henrik Larsson.
Gwent boxing hero Joe Calzaghe, Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, cricketer Brian Lara and TV chef Gordon Ramsay are some of the others that will join him in a Rest of the World team.
In the run-up to the football world cup, they will take on an England team containing Alan Shearer and pop star Robbie Williams, in a match organised by Unicef.
All proceeds from Soccer Aid will go towards the charity’s work, helping children around the world.
Actor, Mr Sheen, said that playing alongside the likes of Zidane will be an “extraordinary honour and privilege”.
The match is on Sunday, June 6, at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium, broadcast live on ITV1.
