AN image of the famed Pontypool front row of Graham Price, Tony Faulkner and Bobby Windsor has been used to create a unique rugby t-shirt.
The image of the trio in their hey day has been used to produce a special replica shirt to help raise funds for Pontypool Rugby Club’s forthcoming season.
The shirt has the classic Pontypool red, white and black hoops and shows the three legendary front rowers in their trade mark front row pose and is reproduced with some Andy Warhol-type creativity.
Graham Price, Pontypool’s Club President, and Charlie Faulkner were presented with their shirts from the Club’s new mascot Pooler Bear to launch the shirt, which will be worn by the team at the Man of Gwent Sevens tournament at Rodney Parade on August 7.
Bobby Windsor will be presented with his shirt at Pontypool Park later this year.
Speaking after the event, Graham Price said: "I’m only too pleased to be able to help the club with their fundraising and the buzz around the club at training is great."
Charlie Faulkner commented: "Being here at the Park takes me back, there are lots of memories here. The shirt looks great."
The shirt is on sale now at Pontypool’s merchandising partner, Pure Rugby, Cwmbran, and the club will receive a royalty for shirts sold.
