EX-WALES football star John Hartson helped kick-off a game of robot football at the Eisteddfod today.
A team from the University of Wales, Newport were displaying the android players to demonstrate their research into robotics.
Hartson, with fellow ex-Wales stalwart, Malcolm Allen came to the demonstration in the old site office on the maes to see the electronic footballers for themselves.
Torbjorn Dahl, a reader in cognitive robotics at the university said making the robots play football helps research into a range of motor skills and techniques.
